April is the author of numerous historical pieces, including “The Divorce Colony: The Strange Tale of the Socialites who Shaped Modern Marriage on the American Frontier” for Atavist Magazine and JSTOR Daily’s “History Is Served,” a biweekly column at the intersection of food, history and current events. An experienced researcher, she has collaborated with nonfiction authors on more than a dozen book projects, including including New York Times bestseller Close to Shore.

April is also the author of the Philadelphia Chef’s Table cookbook; Sweet Sugar, Sultry Spice with pastry chef Malika Ameen; and a shelf full of other books on cooking, urban agriculture and travel.

A former staff writer and editor for Philadelphia magazine and a former US Airways magazine contributing editor, April is currently an editor with the HBS Alumni Bulletin.
